Several species of sport fish have been identified including mullet, yellow bass, and largemouth bass. Twenty species of frogs and toads, fourteen species of snakes, and the alligator have been found at SSC. Over one hundred bird species were documented at SSC. Species found at SSC and surrounding areas that are considered threatened or endangered include the Gulf sturgeon, eastern indigo snake, Florida panther, gopher tortoise, and bald eagle. picture of deer, alligator, mallard in flight, and eagle at nest
